Adrian Kershaw, double winner of the Supersport 400cc races at the 2018 Isle of Man Steam Packet Company Southern 100 International Road Races spent a few days in Japan promoting both the Southern 100 and the Blackford’s Pre-TT Classic Races.
Stockport man Adrian was invited by Japanese company CSA, who sponsored special winners and podium awards at all three road races on the Colas Billown Course last year, also took the opportunity to visit Triumph Tokyo.
Whilst at the Triumph Tokyo Headquarters at Ogano Town, Chichibu, Adrian accepted an invitation to test ride the Triumph Speed Twin and the Street Triple on a 3-kilometre course around the Gakkaku Dam, in the company of Mr Nakazato, Sales Promotion and Senior Advisor to the company.
The double winner from 2018, then took four Japanese riders, on twins and triples on several laps of ‘Japanese Billown Course’ showing how to improve their riding skills and safety and helping them discover the joys and fun of riding motorcycles.
After experiencing some Japanese culture, courtesy of his hosts, Adrian then gave them an insight into the Pre-TT Classic Races and the Southern 100, leaving them with a wish to travel over to the Isle of Man to watch the ‘friendly races’ as the events are known to all who have visited and watched the races since 1955 on the Colas Billown Course on the outskirts of Castletown in the Isle of Man.
