Top Race Teams at Southern 100 Motorcycle Show

The Southern 100 Motorcycle Show supported by the IFGL Group has attracted several the top local road racing teams to the Race Paddock on Saturday 10th July 2021, along with plenty of nostalgia with Classic racing bikes that have been victorious on the 4.25-mile Billown Course. Remembering Two Stalwarts of the Southern 100

Southern 100 Racing remembers two long time stalwarts of the ‘friendly races’ who took their chequered flag on 13th June. Willie Clucas appears to have been around Billown ‘for ever’ involved with the races, but surprisingly it was 1997 when he took up his first official appointment as Deputy Club Marshal. Queen’s Birthday Honour for Ray McCullough

Irish road racing legend Ray McCullough has been recognised in the Queen’s Birthday Honours List for 2021. 2021 – 100/100/100 Gets the Green Light!

Starting at midday on 28th July and concluding at 15:00hrs on Sunday 1st August we aim to run 100 riders completing 100 laps of the legendary TT Mountain Course in 100hrs. We set a (motor)bike off on their lap every hour, on the hour with a maximum of 4 bikes per “hour” and continue for 100 hours straight. A truly unique event to be part of. Southern 100 Blast from The Past 1999

Whilst Steve Hislop, David Jefferies, Keith Huewen, amongst others decided the Billown Course was not for them, the three named were persuaded by MCN to test ride a number of road superbikes during the ‘friendly races’ in 1999. The trio appeared to enjoy themselves around the 4.25-mile course, including entertaining the fans with numerous wheelies being pulled during the laps between the races.
