15th July A Good Day for Joey

The date of 15^th July was a good one for Joey Dunlop OBE., MBE, they all fell on a Thursday, which can only relate to the Isle of Man and the Southern 100 Road Races.

The diminutive Ulsterman won three of his six Solo Championship Races on Thursday 15^th July, the first in 1976: his fifth in 1993 and his six (and regrettably his  last) in 1999.

He spread the other three over three dates 14^th July 1977 for his second, completing the first hat-trick on the 13^{th of} July 1978, whilst he won his fourth Championship on 18^th July 1991.
