Artist’s Donation to Supporters Club

Artist and Author, David Daisy ventured to the Colas Billown Course in 2015, sat quietly at various vantage points over five years making sketches as the racing progressed.

The result was an excellent hard-backed 90-page artwork book entitled, The Art of Road Racing – Southern 100 ‘the Friendly Races’ Billown of which one hundred copies were produced and went on sale in November 2019.

After a near three-year sabbatical, two due to the Covid Pandemic the friendly races returned, as did David Daisy, this time with a Cheque for £500.00 to be donated to the Southern 100 Supporters Club.

The cheque was presented to Club Chairman George Peach and Club Secretary Rachel Palmer during this year’s races. The Supporters Club provides funds for vital safety equipment around the Billown Course and assists injured riders, officials, marshals in times of hardship.

Rachel Said: ‘It is very generous of David to donate £500.00 to the Supporters Club from the sale of his excellent book and we are extremely grateful to him.’
