Life Long Supporter Ailsa Kelly Passes
Southern 100 Racing are saddened to learn of the passing of life time supporter and helper at the races, Ailsa Kelly.
Ailsa lived in one of the bungalows opposite the Race Control on Castletown Bypass and for many years kindly provided much needed sustenance to ‘work pares’ by way of mugs of tea, homemade cakes, and sandwiches. Once the action was underway, Ailsa made her home-made specialities available to the staff situated in Race Control also helping the other Hospitality Ladies, looking after various guests.
In recognition of her kindness over more than 30 years, the club made a special presentaon to her in August 2020.
Club Chairman George Peach said: ‘Ailsa’s contribution to the races was immeasurable and very much appreciated by all involved with the ‘work parties’ looking after them so well for many years.’
All involved with Southern 100 Racing express their sincere condolences to Ailsa’s family, and friends at this sad time.
