Southern 100 Marshals Add Ireland Ambassador to Ranks
In 2018 the Southern 100 Marshals Association recruited a UK Marshals Ambassador.
Andy Brown’s role is to represent our Marshals Association in the UK and to assist and encourage marshals and visitors to come and see the most exciting real road racing.
The way in which Andy is preaching the good race or getting the word out is by visiting places where bikers gravitate to. This is of course Motorcycle Clubs and Motorcycle Dealers.
Andy was highly active during 2018 and 2019 and was all set up to continue the good work, when the pandemic brought an abrupt stop to proceedings for the following two years. Thankfully racing resumed in 2022 and once again Andy was busy encouraging Marshals to come to the Isle of Man and enjoy the experience of the friendly races.
With success of the scheme in the UK, the Southern 100 Marshals Association made the decision to appoint an Ambassador for the Island of Ireland.
Chief Marshal Miles Corlett is pleased to announce that Uel Irwin has offered to become the All Ireland Southern 100 Marshals Association Ambassador and he has already recruited two assistants, Sam Crossett and racer Jo Crossett to the ranks.
Miles commented: ‘The recruitment of marshals is one of the vital services for any road race and Andy Brown spreading the word in England is proving worthwhile.
‘I am sure that Uel and his two assistants Sam and Jo will be equally successful in their efforts to encourage marshals to attend in May and July and thank them for coming forward.’
