Southern 100 to Celebrate 70th Anniversary with Return of Champions
The Southern 100 Road Races are proud to mark a historic milestone in 2025, as we celebrate 70 years of racing around the Billown Course. This Platinum Anniversary promises to be our most memorable yet, with a packed programme of celebrations and the return of more than 18 former champions.
We are honoured to welcome back some of the sport’s most iconic names, each of whom has made history around the Billown Course.
We look forward to seeing Ron Langstan (1960), Charlie Williams (1972), Steve Tonkin (1974), George Fogarty (1979), Dave Dean (1980), Dave Ashton (1981), Con Law (1982), Brian Reid (1983), Dave Pither (1984), Kenny Harrison (1985 & 1986), Dave Leach (1989), Phillip McCallen (1992), Bob Jackson (1995 & 1998), Ian Lougher (2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2007, 2008), Ryan Farquhar (2003 & 2010), Michael Dunlop MBE (2011 & 2012), Dean Harrison (2017, 2018 & 2019), Davey Todd (2022 & 2024) join us once again to help commemorate seven decades of world class road racing in the south of the Isle of Man.
A Day of Legends – Wednesday 9th July
The celebrations begin with a private champions’ lunch in Castletown on Wednesday 9th July, where our returning riders will be joined by invited guests and supporters of the Southern 100.
Following the lunch fans are invited to the Bushy’s Fanzone at 1:30pm, where Chris Kinley will host a special live chat show featuring the champions. They’ll reflect on their racing memories, legendary rivalries, and iconic moments from years gone by, an unmissable opportunity for any true road racing fan.
At the end of the chat show, spectators will have a chance to collect an exclusive limited-edition 70th Anniversary poster and meet the riders for a signing session, a perfect souvenir from the event.
An additional autograph session will also take place during the Championship Day lunch break on Thursday, 10th July, outside Southern 100 HQ, giving fans another opportunity to meet their heroes up close.
A Grand Finale Like No Other
As announced earlier this week, our 70th Anniversary celebrations will conclude with something truly unforgettable. While we’re keeping full details under wraps a little longer, we can say this:
- It’s not fireworks, it’s something better. Much better.
- Prepare for a one-of-a-kind experience, never before seen at the Southern 100, and guaranteed to leave fans in awe.
Join us this July as we honour 70 years of the Southern 100 — the past, the present, and the thrilling future of the friendly races.
