Competitor Personal Protective Equipment – Pre TT & Southern 100 Races 2024

The Southern 100 Club and the Race Organiser, ACU Events Ltd would like to take this opportunity to clarify the situation with regard to Competitor PPE for 2024.

We have received several enquiries about clothing requirements for 2024 and can confirm the following :-

Crash Helmets – As per the regulations, for the Pre TT Races event in May, both FIM certified and ACU Gold certified crash helmets will be permitted. For the Southern 100 Races in July, only FIM certified helmets may be used.

Leathers, Gloves and Boots – As per the regulations, all must be marked as CE approved. Exemptions were made in 2023 during the transition year and as communicated to the riders concerned will not be given this year. Please remember that a back protector must be worn, which meets European standards, also detailed in the regulations.

 

2024 regulations were sent to all competitors. Any queries should be directed in the first instance to the Race Secretary.
