Southern 100 Remembers Sam Naughton
Southern 100 Road Races is deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Sam Naughton, 37, from Castletown, following an incident during qualifying at the Manx Grand Prix.
Sam made his Southern 100 debut in 2024 and was also a regular competitor at the Pre-TT Classic Road Races, where he took third place in the Consolation Race A in 2024.
Sam’s contribution to racing on the Billown Course went far beyond competing. He was always willing to lend a hand to the club, attending work parties to help prepare the course and supporting our events whenever he could. Earlier this year, Sam brought his bike along to both the Southern 100 Dinner and our Media Launch.
He was a valued part of the Southern 100 family, both as a competitor and as someone who gave his time so willingly to support the club and road racing on the Billown Course.
Everyone at Southern 100 Road Races extends their deepest sympathy to Sam’s wife Charlotte, his children Bonnie, Liam, Jesse and Parker, his family and his many friends.
Our thoughts are with them all at this incredibly sad time.
